What are City Groups?
As a church, we live life as a gathered community on Sundays and scattered throughout the week as missionaries who live in community. Our City Groups are how we live in community week-to-week. City Groups are small groups of people who meet regularly in homes throughout the Boston area to share meals, study, and pray for each other. If you have any questions about City Groups, please feel free to email Juan Maclean at email@example.com
Why are they called “City Groups”?
A City within the City
One, Jesus says that Christian community should be a type of city on a hill (Matt. 5:14-16). That is, we are a city within the city. We should stand in contrast to the city around us because of our love for the true King, and our love for one another in word and deed.
A City for the City
Second, we are to be a city for the city (I Peter 2:11-12). God calls his people to live within the surrounding community for the sake of blessing it. City Groups at Redemption City Church will never exist as a Christian "cul-de-sac". Our love for one another has to spill over into the people and places of our city where it is not known or shown.
Where and when do City Groups meet?
Currently, we have 3 City Groups gathering in Downtown, South Boston, and Jamaica Plain.
