Joining God in the Renewal of All Things through Prayer and Fasting
As we continue on in 2015, we have high hopes that Jesus will do exceedingly more than we can ask or imagine. We want to see more people come to know Jesus for the very first time and for us to grow deeper in our love for Jesus.
I am inviting you to pray and fast for God to help Redemption City Church grow in these areas. For the next three Saturdays (or day of your choosing) – March 14, 21, and 28 – from 6AM to 6PM, I am inviting you to join me in a fast for God to move in and through us for the sake of Jesus being lifted up in our hearts, and for many we know, and those we don't know yet, to hear and receive the good news that He is their Savior, Redeemer, and King. We want to see God shake and shape us so that His Kingdom desires for Boston become ours, and that we would see His Holy Spirit move in us and in our city.
For prayer and fasting, we will be specifically praying, "God, we need you to...
(MORNING) Create clean hearts in us so we can become more holy like Jesus.
Let us have no other gods before us and reveal and remove our idols.
Teach us to repent and reconcile quickly with others.
Set our hope fully on His grace and salvation in every circumstance.
(LUNCH) Teach us to sit and rejoice in Your Truth.
Still us to sit at His feet and listen like Mary did with Jesus.
Give us a hunger for the Scriptures so we can be enriched by and embody the words, works, and ways of Jesus.
Show us how to boldly and gently share the gospel with our friends and neighbors.
(EVENING) Mature us to make more disciples.
Prepare and provide pastors, deacons/deaconesses, and Community Groups for Redemption City Church.
Grow our unity as a family like Father, Son, and Spirit are.
Make us faithful and make us fruitful so we can obey the Great Commission.
"Fasting is simply a way to make clear that we sufficiently reverence the amazing opportunity to ask help from the everlasting God, the Creator of the universe, to choose to put everything else aside and concentrate on worshiping, asking for forgiveness, and making our requests known – considering His help more important than anything we could do ourselves in our own strength and with our own ideas."
– Edith Schaeffer, The Life of Prayer
