Dear Redemption City Family,
What emotion does the birth of Christ produce? Joy? Indifference? Not sure?
God promises us joy in Christ, and not the kind of joy that is temporal but the kind that is eternal. Only He can give this joy that transforms our very lives.
The truth is we all want to be happy, but far too often we seek our happiness in other things besides God. C.S. Lewis once wrote, “If we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."
I pray you’ll join us Sunday as we explore what it means to experience and know joy in Christ this Advent season. Don’t allow the holidays steal your joy but allow the grace of God to transform and renew you.
Christ is All,
Help Wanted on A/V Team
We are in need of some volunteers to help out with the Audio/Visual Team on Sunday mornings. No prior experience required – we will train you! If you are interested in serving, please contact us or talk with Daniel Redfern on Sunday.
Rosie's Place Holiday Drive
This Christmas season, we are helping out Rosie's Place Holiday Drive in which we will be providing care packages to women recently placed in the state’s emergency housing system. Find more information about the drive on our website, and the last day to donate is next Sunday, Dec. 20th!
No Service on Dec. 27th
There will be no Sunday Gathering on December 27th as many people will be out of town and traveling for the holidays. We encourage you to take the day to rest and reflect on the beauty of Christ!
Women's Gathering/Bible Study
Women: Mark your calendars for a Women’s Gathering and bible study kick-off on January 9th. RSVP and find more information for the event on our website. More details on location, time and our winter bible study are coming soon!
Love Redemption City Church?
Let people know! We would love it if you could take a minute to like/rate us on some social media sites, which makes it easier for others to find us when they are searching for a church in Boston.
Every Sunday morning, Redemption City Church holds pre-service prayer meetings at 9:45am. Please join us in the hallway next to the auditorium to pray for our church, our city, and our world.
