Life Together: Planting Sacred Roots in Secular Soil

Dear Redemption City Family,

Last week we explored the following question, "Does the church matter?"

A recent survey showed that nearly 1 in 6 twenty-something Christians who grew up in the church say they’ve dropped out, which means if you’re in your twenties and you grew up going to church, chances are you are one of the dropouts.

Maybe you’ve come back, maybe you haven’t.
Maybe you left because of the hypocrisy.
Maybe you find the church boring.
Maybe you love the church, or maybe you hate the church.
Maybe you feel the church isn’t worth it.

How do we move past this cultural stagnation? How do we press into a more compelling expression of the church and get the roots of the gospel into the soil of this new kind of community? I think it begins by getting below the surface of a consumer culture and responding to the call of Jesus in a different way.

I hope you’ll join us as we wrap our current teaching series Life Together and pursue what it means to be the church Jesus envisions here in Boston.

Christ is All,
Pastor Juan
