Life Together: A Humble Community
Dear Redemption City Family,
Famous British author G.K. Chesterton was once asked what was wrong with the world. He famously responded,
Another mark of a Jesus-centered community is humility. If we’re honest with ourselves, humility isn’t something that comes easy to us. How do we grow in humility and weaken pride in our lives?
To grow in humility, we need to identify the ways pride manifests itself. We cannot make ourselves humble; rather, we must turn to Jesus, the perfect example of humility. By the power of the Spirit, we follow Him and personally experience his grace to us. We put pride to death by getting our eyes off ourselves and looking at Christ. As we do this, we will be transformed into a community that seeks to not just serve ourselves but instead those inside and outside of our community.
Tomorrow we will learn about biblical humility and ask God to shape us into a more humble community that is eager to serve Him. I hope you’ll join us. Bring a friend!
Christ is All,
Haley House Soup Kitchen
We are helping the Haley House Soup Kitchen tomorrow from 1:30-4:30PM as we prepare and serve a meal for the elderly homeless community of the neighborhood. We have 1-2 spots left, so sign up on our website today to reserve your spot to help!
If you are new to our church and would like to chat with Pastor Juan, ask some questions and hear more about our vision, then join us for our Newcomers' Lunch directly following our gathering tomorrow. Lunch/drinks will be provided, and we will finish at 12:30PM.
Every Sunday morning, Redemption City Church holds pre-service prayer meetings at 9:45am. Please join us in the hallway next to the auditorium to pray for our church, our city, and our world.
